Maths Teacher KS3 and KS4

A wonderful school in leafy North West London suburb is looking to appoint an outstanding Teacher of Maths up to GCSE that meets their high standards. The role starts in September 2015. The school is a new building and although located in outer London is accessible in less than 30 minutes from Central London stations. The school is in the top 56 schools in national performance tables when compared to similar schools and has recently been rated Outstanding by Ofsted (March 2015). Students begin studying the course in year 9 although many of the key concepts have already been encountered in years 7 and 8 (Edexcel specification). In year 9 all students follow the higher course. In year 10 students are taught in classes according to their likely tier of entry, foundation or higher. At the end of year 10 students may be entered for public exams in elements of the Maths course. The outcome of these exams will inform groupings and tiers of entry for year 11. At the start of year 11, students will move to new classes based on their estimated grades. Last year, 90 % of students made expected progress or better in Maths from KS2 to KS4. The national average for this is 65%. 70 % of students achieved 5 or more A*-C grades including English and Maths. The national average for this is 55%.
