Materials & Process Engineer

MATERIALSwith business activities covering civil and military telecommunications and Earth observation, science and navigation programmes - together with a complete range of associated ground infrastructure and space equipment.

They are currently looking to recruit an experienced Materials & Process Engineer to work at their Portsmouth site on a contract basis (6 months+)

Responsibilities:

To work with and support the manufacture and design of electronic subsystems of satellite payloads eg SSPAs, LNAs, processors etc.
To satisfy internal customers through the application of specialist electronics materials and processes knowledge.
To instigate and manage to completion materials and processes selection, development, evaluation and qualification programmes.
To participate in risk reviews at all stages of product design, development and manufacture, ensuring that materials and processes risk retirement plans are carried through.
To prepare declared materials and processes lists and ensure that adequate materials and processes qualification has been achieved as advised.
Select Materials and process that will be put in place
To maintain awareness of developments in the field of materials and processes and develop processes used within the high reliability manufacturing environment.

Requirements:

Experience with high-reliability electronic subsystems and assemblies as a Materials and Process Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer with experience in materials and processes or Product Assurance Lead for electronic subsystems.
Educated to Higher Vocational Qualification level in Materials Science or similar.
