Materials Manager

Manufacturing client in Duluth, GA is seeking a Materials Coordinator to assist the lead Planner in coordinating and managing inventory of finished product to be installed. This company manufactures paneling and wall systems for their end clients and prefers someone from construction materials manufacturing background that has worked with an MRP or ERP system and can make minor upgrades in Visual Basic when needed. RESPONSIBILITIES

- Assist Project Planners in coordinating and expediting flow of materials, parts, and assemblies, according to production and shipping schedules or department priorities, and compiles and maintains manual or computerized records:
- Reviews production schedules and related information and confers with department supervisors to determine material requirements to identify overdue materials and to track material
- Requisitions material and establishes sequential delivery dates to departments, according to job order priorities and material availability, release work orders and check inventory levels using SYSPRO MRP system.
- Examines material delivered to production departments to verify conformance to specifications as well as arranges in-plant transfer of materials to meet production schedules.
- Computes amount of material required to complete job orders, applying knowledge of product and manufacturing processes. Updates SYSPRO using Visual Basic when neccesary.

REQUIREMENTS

- 3+ years experience as a Materials Coordinator, Planner or similar field; preferable from the manufacturing or construction industry.
- Working knowledge of an MRP/ERP system ( Will teach SYSPRO) and also Visual Basic or similar code to adjust/update the MRP.
- Able to read blueprints and work with a scheduling software such as MS Project, Excel or similar
- Client preference is someone with a construction background, manufacturing background, drafting (Autocad) or planning background will be a good fit for this role.
