Materials Controller - Contract - Bristol

Roc Search's client based in Bristol is seeking an experienced Materials Controller to join an existing team. You will be responsible for day to day purchasing fulfilment through their SAP system, developing long term supplier relationships, reducing supply chain costs and Project based Activities.

Responsibilities

*Plan and manage stock requirements by ensuring product forecasts and minimum stock quantities are maintained. Liaise with sales teams and regularly maintain this area.
*Review the performance of key suppliers initiating improvement actions plans and/or alternative supply as necessary.
*Negotiate pricing with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing is always maintained with materials. This may include monitoring market material pricing and developing pricing agreements.
*Lead and/or participate in cost reduction exercises generated from investigating internal manufacturing processes, alternative supply and/or negotiation.
*Ensuring ISO standards/procedures with respect to the purchasing and material control are maintained.
*Produce reports as required based on stock values, pricing reductions and supplier performance. As well as support sales functions with customer reports.

Key Skills

*HNC or equivalent in Engineering - Desirable
*Experience in Supply Chain or Buying role in Manufacturing business
*Experience in running/leading lean manufacturing exercises
