Material Procurement Specialist

SUMMARY/SCOPE OF POSITION: Responsible for assisting the engineering department in researching parts and parts vendors to create part numbers in SAP suitable for procurement. Review customer specifications to verify appropriate material is procured.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 2 year degree or equivalent in engineering discipline
- Must be able to work in a project driven environment where constructive feedback from others is encouraged
- Must have excellent conflict resolution skills
- Must be available and willing to work overtime on occasion to meet customer project commitments
- Must perform duties in the office as part of a project team
- Must be proficient with MS Excel
- Knowledge of MS Access and familiarity with the SAP environment preferred

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- Track and provide updates to project manager/leader pertaining to status of the parts creation workbook and activities.
- Create Material Master, BOM, and Change Master in SAP.
- Prepare and create partial or complete system BOM in SAP.
- Obtain and manage material vendor quotes to create new parts in SAP and project management business system.
- Evaluate electrical components to find more affordable alternatives and vendors.
- Assist with qualifying vendors for the company.

Leadership:

- Drives the material creation and requisition process for the region.
- May assist other regions with material creation as required.
- Coordinates with other departments as necessary to satisfy project requirements.

This contract position is expected to be 12 months in duration.
