Material & Process Engineer

We are currently looking for development engineers with a focus on Materials & Processes, which will be active in the area of Space (Product Unit Launchers). This would be for a 12 month+ contract based in Zurich, Switzerland.

The tasks include:

Establish the materials and develop the processes for new products within the framework of space projects

Optimization of manufacturing processes, especially for carbon fiber reinforced plastics (CFRP)

To carry out material characterizations, to contribute to the structural design of space structures

Support production with the introduction of new production processes and problems

Execution of development tests, preparation of technical reports predominantly in German and English as well as drafting of technical delivery conditions and production regulations

Negotiating with customers and suppliers for material and process engineering issues

Collaboration in tendering for new projects (cost estimates, material and process selection)

The profile of suitable candidates includes:

Graduation as a machine or material engineer ETH or similar, a deepening in lightweight construction or fiber-reinforced plastics is an advantage

Some years of professional experience in materials and processes

Thorough written and oral German and English
