Material Planning Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY

- Inventory based analysis and re-order point development for optimization and utilization of material, planning requirements in concert with operational work plan, execution of material buys, material control meeting Sarbanes Oxley requirements, and disposition of aged and/or obsolete material.
- All of the above in concert with internal business partners work plans and goals/objectives.

PRIMARY DUTIES
1. Utilization of analytical tools and techniques to position the optimal amount of material to meet requirements of the operational businesses
2. Execute material buys based on analysis and work plan.
3. Optimize inventory levels by frequently analysing health of the inventory investment and how frequently the inventory is turning.
4. Utilization of technology in the development and execution of system queries, dash boards, and presentation of analysis to effectively optimize Northeast Utility's inventory strategy.
5. Provide timely and accurate customer support to business partners in support of ongoing operational activities.
6. Understand and execute appropriate material control techniques in the support of Sarbanes Oxley requirements.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
1. Bachelor's degree in business, mathematics, or similar data-intensive discipline or equivalent education/experience required.
2. At least 5 years of related analytical experience required for the fully qualified Analyst level.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILL
1. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
2. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required, including but not limited to; V-lookup, pivot tables and reporting, and structure and formatting of data.
3. Ability to create, edit, and manage output data queries utilizing SQL is highly preferred.
4. Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint to present data analytics and metrics.
5. Ability to work collaboratively on cross-functional project and initiative teams.
6. Understanding and application of Supply Chain inventory and logistics methodologies.
7. Experience with Enterprise Asset Management and/or Enterprise Resource Planning systems is highly preferred.
