Material Planner/Material Handler Job

MATERIAL PLANNER/MATERIAL HANDLER needed for a CONTRACT opportunity to join our client in ROCHESTER, NY.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Plans, schedules and monitors the efficient movement of material from receiving or the warehouse to production. Develops raw material requirements and scheduling requirements from engineering specifications and production schedules and coordinates material movement with purchasing, warehouse, and production. May negotiate lead times with suppliers and manage schedules for timely delivery.
- Primary responsibility is ensuring the timely delivery of material to the production line.
- Expedites material through receiving, inspection and stock, to the line. Works closely with stockroom and Program Planning personnel. Monitors shortage list to ensure hot items are delivered quickly. Manages common stock material requirements needed for program build.
- Research and provide cost and supplier information to project material list supplied by program planners.
- Provide schedule maintenance & updates for build by program
- Create/print appropriate labels, toe tags, paperwork.
- Provide cycle counts of line material as needed. Understand system transactions in order to resolve discrepancies

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Knowledge with Oracle/Agile
- High School degree plus four to six (4-6) years of relevant experience or an Associate degree with two to four (2-4) years of experience
- Minimum of two (2) years materials experience
- Minimum of two (2) years of MS Office experience
- Minimum of two (2) years experience working with internal customers
