Material-Ink Interaction Researcher

Eingestellt von Michael Bailey Associates - Eindhoven

Gesuchte Skills: Engineering, Design, Engineer

Projektbeschreibung

For our client in the R&D sector we are looking for Material-Ink interaction researcher

START: ASAP

DURATION: 1 year +

LANGUAGE: Dutch and English

LOCATION: Venlo

Our client is inventing and developing different technologies. While most of the parts are produced externally, assembly and testing is done in-house. For in-house assembly we need to develop, engineer and industrialize a multitude of processes and process tooling.

In the assembly process parts are bonded together using thin adhesive layers (glue). The adhesive should withstand a variety of ink at elevated temperature and mechanical stress, during the lifetime of the product.

To strengthen the assembly team we are looking for a material-ink interaction researcher with a background in chemical engineering, material/polymer science or applied science.

As a material-ink interaction researcher it is your job to:

-Validate that our current adhesives are able to withstand a wide range of inks.
-Provide insight in material interaction mechanisms which could lead to failure.
-Develop test methods to measure material degradation due to ink interaction.
-Accurately perform material-ink interaction tests and perform (statistical) analysis.
-Find alternative adhesives which are more robust or have other advantages, eg simplify processing or printhead design.
-Find methods to applying thin layers of adhesive, assist in the definition and procurement of pilot plant equipment.

MOST IMPORTANT AND CRITICAL TASKS For above described aspects we are looking for a (multidisciplinary) interaction researcher with experience on Bachelor+/Academic level in the field of chemical engineering, materials science or applied science. The interaction researcher will be part of a material interaction team, which works closely together with the different printhead development project. Furthermore for detailed technical evaluations and tests you will ask for support from process engineers and lab workers.

Field of Experience

-Knowledge of adhesives and application methods
-Experience with material interaction testing
-Ability to develop measurement methods to quantitatively describe interaction phenomena
-Design for six sigma (DIDOV or DMAIC), design for reliability
-Experience with Minitab (software) to analyze results

Profile

-At least an BSc in Chemical Engineering or Material Science
-About 5 years or more proven experience as an interaction researcher
-Hands-on attitude to test material-ink combinations
-Experience with adhesives, glues
