Material Handler Job

Yoh has a contract-to-hire opportunity for a MATERIAL HANDLER to join our client in Sunnyvale, CA.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare materials for transfer and shipping.
- Read work orders and requisition forms to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed.
- Convey materials and items from receiving, warehouse or production areas to storage or other designated areas.
- Examine incoming and outgoing shipment contents and compare with records, (such as manifests, invoices or orders) to verify accuracy.
- Prepare documents, such as bills of lading and shipping orders to route materials.
- Contact carrier representative to make arrangements and issue instructions for the shipping and delivery of materials.
- Pull orders from warehouse bins and racks using a Material Transfer Orders.
- Stage and palletizing product in warehouse.
- Cycle count inventory in the warehouse and production area.
- Data entry in the ERP system.
- Perform light Quality Control to ensure that products are going to the correct areas.
- Operate Walkie forklift.
- Work with Hazardous materials.
- Perform general cleanup and maintenance of your work area.
- Observe Company Safety processes and procedures at all times.
- Other duties as required and assigned.

Job Qualifications:
- Requires the ability and willingness to work flexible hours when needed.
- High school diploma or equivalency.
- Minimum of two (2) years' relevant experience.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills, and the ability to read and understand written and verbal instructions.
- Interpersonal skills to proactively work effectively at all levels.
- Self-starter, able to work in fast paced environment.

Necessary Qualifications:
- Ability to lift and/or move from 20-30 lbs., and occasionally up to 50 lbs. Will reach, bend, twist, push and pull as needed.
- Must be able to spend long hours standing, bending, and reaching.
- Must have a high attention to detail in order to identify quality problems or incorrect information.
- Basic computer skills, demonstrating competency with programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel and email (experience with Great Plains a plus).
- Basic math skills, and the ability to perform basic calculations.

Preferred Additional Qualifications:
- Shipping and HazMat handling experience.
- Experience in a start-up company environment.
