Matchtech ARE Recruiting an Assistant Contract Manager

*Work in conjunction with external/internal Legal teams, to manage contract/commercial processes in a manner which is efficient for the business.

*Coordinate legal and commercial disputes logged against the company. Support attaining the best position for the company.

*Provide commercial support to Procurement, Project Management, Engineering and Construction staff for an Offshore Project at various stages of engineering or construction.

*Support with preparation of tender and contract documents including BOQ's.

*Provide knowledge, advice and input to conditions of contract e.g. FIDIC, NEC3.

*Assist with tender assessment in line with the client and/or client requirements.

*Seek to minimise costs and enhance value for money.

*Identify, analyse and respond to commercial risks.

*Undertake cost analysis and respond to claims.

*Prepare financial reports required to justify contract deviations and liaise with commercial departments to resolve.

*Measure and value completed work and payments according to the contract.

*Carry out audits where required.

*Preparation and agreement of Final Accounts.

*Maintain and encourage a high standard of Health & Safety.

*Assist to maintain and improve Quality and Environment Systems.

*Communicate project cost information and lessons learned to various parties to minimise risk.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience
Degree in relevant discipline or equivalent experience
Proven experience of management of Contracts in an engineering and construction environment
Well-developed negotiation, communication and customer service skills
Working knowledge of risk assessment, auditing and risk management techniques
Ability to make high level decisions within tight timescales and with competing priorities.
Experience of influencing across organisational levels.
A proven track record of leading and delivering results.
Proven experience of company systems in an engineering and construction environment
Experience of managing and responding to variations and claims
Working experience of health, safety and environmental legislation applicable to engineering construction projects
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft applications
Knowledge of specification, design, maintenance, construction and commissioning of energy projects
Awareness of regulatory issues impacting the business
Proven experience of influencing and negotiating skills.
Minimum Criteria (mandatory)

*Experience in relevant area and degree qualified in a relevant discipline
*Proven experience in Multimillion Contracts Management
