Matchtech ARE Recruiting a Supplier Quality Engineer

Our client is currently seeking a Quality Engineer for an initial period of 6 months - you will have a background as a Supplier Quality Engineer within manufacturing companies ideally within the Oil and Gas industry.

The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for mechanical component manufacturing, with an understanding of machining processes and assemblies. They will be responsible for ensuring that suppliers are providing the required standard of materials, goods and services to support manufacturing in fulfilling the quality standards and requirements of the business and of the customers.

You will be required to work closely with the engineering (Design and Manufacturing Engineers) team to define process parameters and criteria to ensure supplier process capability is effective to meet product requirements. You will also be the technical focal point for supplier activities directed toward process control and quality assurance of site material and components. You will also eliminate communication barriers which may affect quality and delivery requirements. You will also be expected to drive continuous improvement of supplier's quality, cycle, and delivery performance through Six Sigma and Lean Six Sigma principles and methodology.

Ideally you will have a strong background with mechanical and machining manufacturing. You will have strong knowledge of manufacturing processes application and development for raw materials including programming principles and development, quality controls and international standard application. Any experience with SAP is highly desirable and we are especially interested in speaking to candidates who are certified to Six Sigma brown or green belt level.
