Next Ventures are currently executing a search for a Master/Senior Software Developer (Orchestration).

About the position

Traditional communication providers are undergoing many changes. The future of today's Operating Support Systems (OSS) and Business Support Systems (BSS) is at an inflection point. At our newly formed Design centre (DC) in Ireland, we are pioneering new business and software architecture to support next generation products and solutions.

Ireland DC mission is to position our clients as a recognized technology leader in management software for communication systems (OSS and BSS). To achieve this, we are building an industry-recognized multi-discipline DC of experts with focus on medium-term to long-term issues. The DC will work closely with an open innovative ecosystem with European customers to address real-world issues. The DC will also engage with key European universities to build a basic research capability to support our clients technical projects.

Our clients are seeking a hands-on, experienced Software Developer/Engineer with excellent problem solving abilities who is excited by real challenges in leading edge Server Side development.

Key Responsibilities include:
Guiding software development of a research project, including working with external development partners and internal NE side engineers;
Rapid Development and design on JAVA based Server Side software to prove the concept of prototypes
Supporting the implementation of semantic decision making algorithms, rules control algorithms and error checking procedures based on designs by model experts and domain experts (JAVA programming).
Ability to take general direction from lead architect, but more importantly be able to work in an efficient and independent manner.

Desired Skills and Experience
B.Sc./M.Sc.in computer science, engineering science, software engineering or similar relevant discipline; with a minimum 5-7 years of applicable software development experience;
Demonstrated practical understanding of the specification, design, documentation, coding, testing and release of commercial software;
In-depth Server Side development experience;
Fluent in multiple programming languages, including JAVA;
Experienced in developing Web UI with RESTful communication style;
Experience in developing GUI with Eclipse environment using SWT
A deep understanding of Object Oriented Design in software systems;
Strong knowledge of Linux and experience in coding Real Time/multi-thread software on target environment;
Sound knowledge of XML/XML Schema/Xpath/Xquery.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
Problem solving ability and lateral thinking capability;
Proven ability to work under pressure and with short deadlines to accomplish objectives;
Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical personnel;
Entrepreneurial thinking and work ethic.

Location

This is a Full time position at our DC in Dublin, Ireland

Business trips may be requested as necessary to support strategy engagements.
