Marketing Finance Accountant - 7 Month Contract

MARKETING FINANCE ACCOUNTANT

DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for month end accounting close procedures including accruals, amortization, recharges and reclassifications for the Marketing department.
Prepare monthly journal entries for accrual and recharge submission.
Record entries to and perform reconciliation of various routine and some complex accounts.
Responsible for all General Ledger and Accounts Payable entries into OneLink system and reconciles transactions to related contracts and projects.
Responsible for monitoring vendor spend against Marketing contracts or agreements to ensure compliance.
Responsible for monthly vendor statement reviews to ensure timely posting of expenses.
Prepare various financial reports and produce reports for management or outside parties.
Review financial reports for accuracy.
Provide analysis of various routine and some complex accounts.
Perform financial analysis and translate data into a management report.
Performs financial analysis upon identification of variances and prepares summary of key findings.
Monitor Marketing contract spend to ensure compliance and escalate issues to management.
Recommend methods and procedures to improve specific task related activities and the functioning of the Marketing Finance accounting unit.
Prepares more complex financial trend and data analysis reports.
May be accountable for the coordination, compilation and distribution of financial data.
Performs financial analysis upon identification of variances and prepares summary of key findings.
Responsible for more complex departments/functions.
Participates in the planning and development of regional, departmental and/or functional budgets.
May be responsible for budget system completion.
Participates in projects of moderate complexity as assigned and may lead projects of low complexity.

REQUIREMENTS:

BA in Accounting or Finance plus minimum 6+ years of direct relevant experience.
Experience with large data sets - Working and consolidating data. 
Experience supporting Marketing activities and projects. 
GAAP knowledge and Internal controls are nice to have.
