Marketing & Business Development Manager, 38k

One of the leading global events organisers is looking for a Marketing and Business Development Manager for a one year contract for maternity cover. The company excels in creating business and consumer exhibitions and events across numerous industries worldwide.

If you have experience in marketing, communications, business development and research within the exhibition industry, this role may be perfect.

Key responsibilities of the role would include:

Taking the lead on the relationships with UK Trade & Investment and Industry Trade Associations.
Being the main point of contact for UKTI, forming new relationships with sector heads, regional ITAs and overseas posts.
Monitoring activities within the UKTI and communicating within the team - funding updates, seminars etc. and identifying and forming new relationships with industry trade associations.
Overseeing marketing and communication for each event included in the programme.
Writing of email and direct mail copy, designing and creation of emails using email marketing software, production of direct mail, working with the show team to utilise marketing options available.
Planning and delivery of webinars to promote presence at events, including finding speakers, marketing communications and writing of content.
Organising onsite marketing to include flyers, banners etc.
Working with the sales director to prepare proposals for additional events.
Industry research, including management of new show / industry research, and creation of business plans and sales strategy documents when needed.
Marketing support, including proofing of emails and other marketing materials, and assistance on copy content.

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated with strong experience in exhibitions and publishing, with excellent communication skills, creativity and initiative in a marketing and business development environment. Knowledge of foreign languages would be an advantage.
