This role has been released on a temporary basis initially for a month they are looking for a Marketing and Publicity Officer

Main Duties will include:

* To assist the Arts Team Leader and Arts Team Lead Officer to develop a marketing plan and strategy that supports the objectives of the Arts Team Service Plan.
* To create and implement individual show campaigns for all productions at the Old Town Hall Arts Centre; this will include, but is not restricted to - the use of print media, press and public relations, direct mail, e-mail, fax, telephone and web-based marketing activities.
* To oversee the production of marketing material including writing and editing, co-ordinating design and facilitating all print and publicity used by the Arts Service including Old Town Hall and other Arts Service brochures, flyers, newsletters, posters, e-flyers, web-site graphics, press releases and other publicity materials.
* To develop and nurture a strong relationship with local arts and cultural organisations and offer advice and support in terms of their marketing and publicity requirements.
* To monitor the effectiveness of Arts Service marketing campaigns against targets and report progress regularly to the Arts Team Leader.
* To manage and monitor the marketing budget in accordance with the Council's financial procedures and systems.
* To ensure marketing and audience research is undertaken to understand the needs of both current and potential audiences. Also to analyse attendance sales and customer satisfaction surveys to plan for future marketing and sales campaigns.
* To ensure notice boards in the external venues are kept up to date and to liaise with other Old Town Hall staff in maintaining the Old Town Hall's foyer and external display boards.
* To be responsible for the development and maintenance of the Arts Service database in accordance with data protection legislation.
* To assist the Arts Team Lead Officer in developing a fundraising and sponsorship strategy.
* To support the production and delivery of a service plan for the service, taking account of the Corporate Strategic Service Improvement Plan, budget, service standards and future developments or trends.
* Ensure that systems and processes are in place and followed within the service to support the delivery of improvement, value for money, performance management targets and the Council's Priorities.
* To develop, support and deliver corporate initiatives.
* To support the delivery of service objectives, ensuring that it is done within budgets and that the service delivers value for money. For the Council and its citizens.
* Support positive communication across the organisation, encourage constructive relationships, including with the Council's key partner agencies.
* Understand the role in the context of the wider Council needs and to partner cross-cutting project teams across the Council as needed.
* Sustain a positive working partnership with elected Members and support their overview and scrutiny role. Provide advice as required, including preparing and presenting complex, quality and timely reports.
* To research, develop and recommend policies and strategies in respect of functions within service.
* To make contributions to corporate initiatives as and when required (e.g. IIP, Improvement Programme, Lean Six Sigma Projects, Zero Based Budgetingadvanced outlook; Microsoft Access; HTML; Desktop publishing
* Proven ability to achieve media coverage

You will ideally have experience in the following areas:

* Experience of writing brochure copy, proof reading, editing, print preparation, production and distribution
* Experience of dealing with the media; composing press releases
* Experience of ticketing/marketing systems and database/mailing list maintenance
* On-line and e-marketing experience
* Experience of using social media to communicate to customers
* Experience of web design and content management
* Experience of Market/ audience research
* Experience of preparing and monitoring budgets
* Experience in liaising with designers and printers in the production of imaginative printed material
