Market Data Sourcing Specialist

Market Data Sourcing Real Time financial data and news, credit ratings and information services:

- CIPS/Procurement Proficient
- Subject Matter Expert in Market data - 15 Years experience of Real Time financial data and news and information services
- Excell skills to interrogate spend data
- Attention to detail
- Report writing

You will have extensive  experience of  buying  products and services from the likes of Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters, FTSE International, Markit, Merger market, Super  Derivatives, and Interactive data to name just a few including the rating agencies (S&P, Fitch, Moody's).

The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of Real Time financial date and news and information services including the products and services bought from Thomson Reuters such as Lipper, Datastream, 3000xtra and understand how this data is used within the business including delivery method (Real Time, delayed, end of day) and frequency the service is used (daily, weekly, monthly). They will also be required to undertake demand challenge with vendors and the business to identify cost saving opportunities and consolidate/rationalise the services/product and supply base.

The successful candidate will identify key stakeholders to determine a set of market data business requirements. This entails confirming with key stakeholders the products and services required to support the business, drafting of the contracts and negotiating the commercials with supply base. Suppliers include but are not limited to Financial Data and News, Credit Ratings and Information Services.

Drafting and negotiating market data contracts to ensure compliance with supplier and regulatory requirements, control  mitigate compliance, reputational & financial exposure

Lead a review of source data utilised in systems & applications to:

- Negotiate with Vendors based on business requirements to provide pricing to Cost Management Unit in order to obtain cost approval.
- Work with Group Legal to implement or improve contract terms for new and existing agreements.
- Manage requests and queries from the Business. 
- Co-ordinate all administrative requirements including loading contracts to Sourcing on Line and GS contract management system

Negotiate best global and regional commercial terms for Market Data Vendor contracts involving:

- Working with the Business MDT and Vendors on new contracts and contracts renewals this requires discussing user and services needs including how data is going to be used within the business and its distribution.
- Providing market data cost and usage transparency to the Business to support of negotiation of contract renewals.
- Working with the Business MDT Analysts when required to negotiate the migration of users from one vendor contract to another vendor contract, with a view to saving cost whilst maintaining or improving service levels.
- Interfacing with Legal, the Business and the Vendors in the negotiation of best terms and conditions for new products,  in line with Bank's requirements. Improve on exiting terms and conditions, where necessary.
- Identifying and reducing risks involved with use of market data across the business.
- Liaising with the Business Managers to reduce their market data spend.
- Carrying out surveys and investigating in new services at lower costs to the Business.
