Margin Analyst

Margin Analyst - Contract

My client, a top tier investment bank, is looking for a Margin Analyst on a contract basis, based in London. The candidate will primarily be responsible for managing the collateral positions (cash and bonds) across the entire portfolio of clients on a daily basis.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor the collateralisation requirements arising from the trading activities of those counterparties with margin documentation in place.

Reviewing complex margin agreements and working with internal areas to onboard new accounts.

Negotiate collateral exchanges/substitutions with counterparties and our Front Office.

Instruct settlement on collateral (cash & securities) trades

Investigation and resolution of margin call disputes, involving portfolio reconciliation and interaction with various internal areas (Front Office, Legal, Credit Risk Management, Operations)

Management of the Collateral Management Group funding book in order to optimize assets used as collateral.

Contribute to the specification and testing of improvements to all systems used.

Cross train on all functions and product coverage performed within the team (OTC, Commodities, Global Netting).

Understand and monitor risk on clients portfolio

Key requirements:

-

Experience within Financial Services/Banking industry, or with strong desire to develop a career in Banking, specifically within the Collateral Management space

Willingness to quickly develop the role via IT and process changes to improve control, automation and levels of sophistication

Confident in dealing with groups outside of immediate team (Sales, Trading, Product Control, Credit, Legal).

Able to multi-task and prioritise accordingly

Analytical and able to solve problems
