Manufacturing Process Technician (Composites) Job

MANUFACTURING PROCESS TECHNICIAN needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in VAN BUREN, MI.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- You will be responsible for the programming and operations of the auto fiber placement machine, autoclave, clean room system, for the purpose of developing new or optimized production operations for selected aviation parts.
- You will be working in a cross disciplined R&D environment, developing new manufacturing processes at the pilot level, validating SOP's, operating equipment, collecting data, producing parts, troubleshooting, and yield improvement actions.
- You will execute DOE scenarios for developing new composite programs and part configurations.
- Operation the Auto Fiber Placement Machine for new or development parts.
- Programming and operation a large Autoclave for part heat treatment requirements as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Associates, Technologist, or Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering with 5 years' experience in Manufacturing Technology prototyping and manufacturing operations support
- Proficient in AutoCad or Unigraphics
- Full knowledge and proficient in MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and database software. Capable of report generation and analysis.
- Candidate must be willing to travel a minimum of four (4) weeks per year.
- Mechanical & electrical machine experience
- EHS knowledge base
- Basic computer competency required (data entry, spreadsheets & reports )
- Knowledge of controlled experimental techniques
- Basic mechanical proficiency including the ability to create sketches for part fabrication
- Knowledge of safe manufacturing practices including, electrical safety, mechanical safety, chemical safety and environmental safety.
- Experience with electronic data collection techniques and equipment a plus.
- Fabrication skills
