MANUFACTURING MANAGER

Our client has a requirement for a permanent MANUFACTURING MANAGER to work in the location of ESSEX. Please note you may also be required to have SC Clearance for this role.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Our client currently has an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Manager.

In this high profile role you will ensure the effective delivery of products against customer requirements, through effective planning and management of teams. You will also be responsible for leading efficiency improvements across the relevant operational areas, in order to deliver customer requirements on time and in full.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES:

- Effectively plan and allocate manufacturing resource within a complex manufacturing environment to meet current and predicted customer requirements, ensuring that the quality of products continuously exceeds customer requirements and associated standards.
- Manage and develop a team of manufacturing employees (Group leaders/Cell Controllers/operators), using effective management skills such as performance management and career development discussions, absence case management, and engagement techniques in driving forward a high performance culture.
- Drive a continuous improvement culture through autonomous teams, to improve manufacturing processes and reduce costs, whilst increasing efficiency through use of manufacturing principles. Drive evidence-driven problem solving and instil a 6 Sigma mentality in the team to ensure the effective and proactive resolution of issues.
- Contribute to the creation of an appropriate operational strategy for the success of the operational unit, in partnership with the Head of Operations, RF Power Solutions Business Unit, Sales and Planning teams.
- Develop, maintain and monitor appropriate Key Performance Indicators for the team and drive year-on-year improvements to meet targets.
- Ensure all appropriate Health, Safety and Environment requirements are in place for specific areas of responsibility, up-to-date and adhered to.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL HAVE:

- Demonstrable experience of managing large teams, preferably within complex manufacturing environments
- Successful track record of applying continuous improvement techniques, quality approaches and change management techniques to deliver business efficiencies
- Knowledge and application of relevant business metrics to drive sustained performance improvements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- 37 hour week - 8:30am-5:00pm Monday to Thursday and 8:30am-4:30pm on Friday.
