MANUFACTURING ENGINEER - RESEARCH PROJECT (CONTRACT)
Are you a SENIOR MANUFACTURING/PROCESS ENGINEER with experience in automation or control systems? This is a great opportunity to get involved in a RESEARCH PROJECT environment and take the lead in continuous improvement activities and design experimentation for process and equipment. You will be front and centre in using statistical techniques, LEAN TOOLS, SIX SIGMA, DESIGN EXPERIMENTATION FOR PROCESS AND EQUIPMENT to achieve targets and cost savings.
Location: LIMERICK
Tasks and responsibilities
- Train and mentor engineers
- Develop and improve maintenance regimes
- Improve fault diagnosis skills within the team
- Technical support for manufacturing
- Develop relationships with equipment suppliers and service providers
- Upgrade existing equipment to improve quality, throughput, workflow and yield
- Support new product and process introductions and change control and be aware of impact of new products on equipment
Experience and Education
- Engineering degree with experience in a production environment
- Machine safety regulations
- Involved in machine commissioning
- Electrical/mechanical/pneumatic systems awareness.
- Control systems experience
- Experience in process transfer or large project role
- Black Belt certified
Desirable skills:
- Experience in process transfer or large project roles in medical device environment
- Previous experience in engineering support roles in a high volume manufacturing environment
- Project Management/Leadership skills
- Training mentoring other technical staff
- Results orientated, attention to detail
