Manufacturing Engineer Job

MANUFACTURING ENGINEER (WELD SHOP) needed for a 6 month CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in AVON, MA.

TOP SKILLS YOU SHOULD POSSESS:

- CAD experience with one or all: (Solidworks, ProE, Autocad)

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Be the technical lead for Operations group on all product-related welding operations
- Develop and sustain Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR) in accordance to contract documents, codes, and other standards
- Process development and Programming support for CNC and robotic welding
- Drive process improvements and selection of welding techniques including Submerged Arc Welding (SAW), Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), Plasma Transfer Arc (PTA), and Cold Metal Transfer (CMT)
- Develop, Modify, and Qualify new or current procedures to support evolving product requirements and special customer demands
- Participate in engineering design reviews to drive design for manufacturability, define manufacturing methods/routings, and develop tooling in advance to support on time orders
- Determine the disposition of Non-Conforming material and drive reductions in Scrap and welding defects
- Create work procedures and documentation to ensure repeatable and quality production of product
- Effectively drive cross-functional teams (Engineering, Sourcing, Planning, Mfg, Suppliers) to solve product/process issues impacting product or delivery performance
- Drive root cause analysis and implement solutions when assembly processes, test or calibration processes drift from control. Use six sigma techniques to identify causes of variation and implement controls that eliminate reoccurrence
- Identify and rectify issue related to safety and ergonomics throughout the manufacturing facility
- Manage projects, budgets, and schedules for the purchase, installation and qualification of new capital equipment, fixturing, tooling
- Work within an established ISO-9001 compliant documentation system, documenting all changes to products or processes

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Weld Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Industrial Engineering Degree from an accredited college or university
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience supporting Weld Shop activities within a Manufacturing environment
- Minimum one (1) year of experience with a CAD package (Solidworks/ProE/AutoCAD
