MANUFACTURING ENGINEER

We currently have a fantastic new requirement for a Manufacturing Engineer to work on an exciting contract role with one of our leading clients. The role is based in the area of Hampshire and boasts an attractive rate. This role requires a DV clearance.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Production engineer with mechanical bias. Responsible for the preparation of manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing associated with assembly, integration and test of Military Products.

This engineer will be expected to define optimised sequence of operations and specifies procedures for Manufacture and Assembly of products, along with any tools and equipment that affect manufacturing/assembly activity. This engineer will also be called upon to provide guidance and support to the production operations on the shop floor.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

- DV Cleared.
- Experienced in production/assembly planning for military, aerospace or similar related products/assemblies.
- A Good understanding of composite and metallic component manufacture/assembly.
- Typical minimum education would be Degree or HND standard in an appropriate engineering discipline
- The ability to work in a team environment
- Good written and verbal communication skills

STANDARD JOB DESCRIPTION

Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling. Designs arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout. Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance. Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions. May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan. Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality. Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques. Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques. Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.

Typical Minimum Education & Experience:
Ideally require a Bachelors degree from an accredited college and capability typically achieved through around 5 years of professional experience. Will also consider individuals with equivalent experience/combined education. Considered career or journey level.
