My client, a leading automotive manufacturer, based in Warwickshire, are looking to recruit a Manufacturing Engineer to join their Electrical Engineering division on a long-term contract basis.

Position Description:

*Advanced Manufacturing Engineering
*Final Assembly Process are responsible for the Development and introduction of new and modified processes associated with new model introductions and model year changes
*This also includes the development of appropriate jigs, fixtures and tooling

Skills Required:

*Reporting to the Manager Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Final Assembly Operations, initially supporting development programmes at Gaydon, and launch programmes in the plants. - Planning, developing and implementation of all Processes for manufacturing for new model introduction and model year changes. - Build process strategy for manufacturing.
*Tooling, Jig & Fixture supplier selection and vendor management
*Feasibility of all designs to suit manufacturing build requirements
*Planning, developing and implementation of all tooling and jigs and fixtures for manufacturing, for new model introduction and model year changes
*Process Capability of all processes and equipment, including Dimensional Management applications Application of Lean Manufacturing and Design principles
*Quality Planning and Analysis for Manufacturing
*Involvement in the sections work through development and monitoring of timing plans
*Manage technical issues and escalate where appropriate
*Attend programme meetings at all levels and present where applicable
*Contribute in the development and submission of departmental responses to product changes
*Support virtual build events, raising and managing issues where appropriate
*Support physical builds at Assembly Plant locations, raising and managing issues where appropriate

Experience Required:

*Knowledge of and involvement in the product development process, Design for Manufacture, Poke Yoke, etc. - Process/operator instruction development - Understanding of synthetic systems for generating operation times - Use of CAD systems to review and explore CAD geometry
*Understanding of Project management
*Team Player and self-motivated. Able to work within an established team of AME Final Assembly engineers
*Problem solving skills and ability to use data to drive decision making

Education Required:

*Ideally educated to degree level
