Manufacturing Engineer

Develops, implements and maintains methods, operation sequence and processes in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies. Interfaces with design engineering in coordinating the release of new products. Estimates manufacturing cost, determines time standards and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines. Maintains records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations. Typically requires 3-5 years of experience.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

- Coordinate the build of the pilot units
- Participate in the prototype build and evaluation
- Track and manage product/prototype cost throughout the project
- Active participation in various phases of product development starting including feasibility
- Lead the Design For Assembly and Design For Manufacturing analysis and complete scorecard
- Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis
- Develop and update product mfg. plan
- Support initial creation of Manufacturing Bills of Materials and routings
- Lead the design, creation and implementation of all assembly equipment and tooling
- Lead the implementation of Production floor layouts
- Facilitate final acceptance of all new assembly processes
- Ensure all quality and environmental requirements are adhered to
- Complete Management of Change for all new equipment and processes
- Complete qualification and validation of equipment
- Support new product introductions at other global facilities as required which will involve travel
- Creation of detailed work instructions
