Manufacturing Engineer

Our client in South Orange County is looking for a contract to hire Manufacturing Engineer who will act as the liaison between the Research and Development team and the Manufacturing team; helps to process new designs through the documentation process; answers technical engineering questions for manufacturing, sales, inspection, and assembly departments; maintains accurate engineering records of existing products; performs related duties as assigned.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Acts as the liaison between the Research and Development team and the Manufacturing team;
- assists in processing new designs through the documentation process, including routing to drafting department, and creating bills of material;
- maintains close working relationship with Manufacturing, Foundry, Machine Shop, and Assembly departments in order to provide engineering support during the manufacturing process for all products;
- keeps existing products up to date with changing requirements from manufacturing/production including updates to existing drawings, creation and maintenance of work instructions for manufacturing/assembly;

REQUIREMENTS

- Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field, or Associates degree with continued coursework towards a Bachelor's degree
- 5 years of experience with emphasis on machine shop practices or manufacturability practices; understanding of the design and development of mechanical and/ or electro-mechanical components, parts and systems; understanding of casting design, machine shop and foundry practices
- AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks CAD, and/or equivalent CAD software programs, as well as basic knowledge of spreadsheet software programs (Excel)
