Managment Accountant

An exciting opportunity for a financial reporting accountant has arisen to join the Life, Pensions and Investments Team at a top tier bank in Bristol. As a financial reporting accountant your responsibilities will focus on the development and improvement of existing processes ensuring the accuracy and completeness of the income statement and balance sheet and the interpretation and analysis of the result, including;

RATE: £300-£350

CONTRACT: 6 months

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Proactively developing, maintaining and managing the production of complex financial statements and regulatory returns in the Insurance Finance function.
- Improving understanding of the result and balance sheet of complex Life assurance entities to enhance the financial control environment; improving our ability to explain the result and balance sheet to internal (Group Finance) and external audiences (through the quarterly news release and to the PRA).
- Promoting and driving improvements (especially in ownership and quality) in the analysis of reported results. Production of meaningful analytical review of month end, half-year and year end results.
- Supporting the delivery of ad hoc information and advice as required by other stakeholders including those within Actuarial, Tax, Capital management, Legal and Risk functions

KEY REQUIRMENTS

- Experienced ACA/ACCA/CIMA - must have IFRS accounting/reporting experience within Financial Services (ideally Life Insurance) and team management experience
- Strong track record of managing a finance reporting process in a large complex organisation and working across teams
- Strong Excel and analytical skills with the ability to explain financial results to senior stakeholders in a clear and concise manner

Sucessfull candidates will not be required to take madatory leave over the Christmas period.
