Managing Editor/Web Journalist

Role: Managing Editor (web journalist)
Type: Contract
Duration: 6-7 months
Rate: 250-300/day
Location: Newport

My public sector client is looking for an experienced Managing Editor to join them on an interim basis. The successful candidate will be required to work with statistical authors to create high quality and innovative plain-English content for the external website.

Requirements:
-Experience of producing engaging copy for a variety of channels (newspapers, magazines, corporate new, websites) and audiences
-Ability to write in plain English and in a succinct, accurate manner.
-Experience of investigative journalism
-Experience of working in a high pressure environment and to pressing deadlines
-Experience of working with a variety of teams and stakeholders, including: publishers, designers, editors, clients and customers,
-Search engine optimisation expertise
-Possesses an interest in current affairs and high profile public debates (highly desirable)
-Degree in related subject or relevant publishing qualification/experience.
