My client a leading QLD employer is looking for a Manager(Program Management Office) to join their team on a temporary full time basis up until January 2014 with possible extension. The successful candidate will oversee and manage the provision of Program Office services to support the delivery of large scale, complex Information Management (IM)/Information Communication Technology (ICT) programs and projects, by planning and coordinating related projects and manage their interdependencies in support of specific business strategies.

Responsibilities of the role include:

- Oversee and manage the provision of, Program Office services to support the delivery of large scale, complex IM/ICT programs and projects in line with my client's project management methodologies.
- Ensure the use of appropriate program and project management techniques, methodologies and tools, including change management and risk and issue management, to ensure quality project outcomes are delivered.
- Ensure programs and projects are managed in accordance with best practice guidelines and my client's formal program and project Management approach and methodologies to enable the achievement of consistent and quality project outcomes.
- Initiate, influence and manage relationships with and between internal and external stakeholders, facilitating effective communication through lessons learned, feedback mechanisms and management of expectations.
- Ensure that project leads adhere to the agreed project and program management approaches and timetable and that they provide the appropriate information to agreed targets of time lines and accuracy.
- Support the Project Managers in ensuring project outcomes are achieved and project management capability is developed and maintained within the Agency by leading, managing and directing multi-disciplinary project team/s.
- Provide expert advice and strategic input into the development of project deliverables to ensure they meet quality standards and comply with my clients policies, strategiesand architecture.
- Enable informed decision making on project issues by developing timely and relevant written submissions, briefs, presentations and information papers for project stakeholders.

To be considered for the role you must have:

- Proven ability to manage the provision of Program Office services, to support a number of large scale, complex IM/ICT programs and projects.
- Proven negotiation, consultation, facilitation and effective written and oral communication skills for use in a complex program/project environment.
- Proven stakeholder relationship management skills to support effective business change, including the ability to influence key stakeholders.
- Proven experience supporting program delivery through the provision of risk, change, quality, finance, resource and configuration management.
- Proven ability in providing expert advice on, and direction in appropriate project management techniques, methodologies, frameworks and tools, preferably PRINCE2.
- Proven experience in leading, managing and mentoring an effective multi-disciplinary team.
- Ability to clarify complexities and articulate a compelling vision of change.
