* Manage a group of assigned new supplier requests, which may include drugs, biologics, medical devices, or services * These activities include: development of a supplier approval plan; scheduling and conducting external audits and recommending supplier suitability * Assist in the design and development of supplier quality policies * Provide implementation support to the facilities for supplier quality policies * Interface with regulators and provide support during regulatory inspections as needed * Interact frequently with indirect reports and functional peer group managers * Identify and manage continuous improvement projects, which may include value stream mapping, kaizen events, and lean principles with the objective of achieving quality, reliability and cost improvements * Must be able to travel at least 30% of time to perform Supplier Quality audits Qualifications: * Thorough knowledge of applicable procedures, specifications, regulations and standards * Strong analytical and problem solving skills * Ability to manage/supervise a team of employees * Good communication and leadership skills * Good interpersonal/influencing/negotiation skills * Good project management skills Education and Experience: * Bachelors Degree in science or engineering * 5+ years experience in Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering or related field which should include 1-2 years of supervisory experience Preferred Qualifications: * Minimum of 2+ years of external supplier quality auditing experience within a pharmaceutical and / or medical devices company * Green Belt / Black Belt certification a major plus * Demonstrated experience with lean principles and statistical analysis preferred * Working knowledge of quality systems in pharma and / or medical device industry * Team player with effective time management skills
