Management Information Officer - SQL Experience Essential

Our Central Government Client is looking for a Management Information Officer to work on an initial contract through until the end of January 2013. This role is based at Daresbury Park in Warrington and is an immediate requirement.

The details of over 5000 invoices and the supporting management information is required to be collated for quarterly submissions. This newly developed post is required to not only collate the information and then distribute it, but to ensure that the information contained in the contracts is correct and confirm the eligibility of the participants and associated management information is accurate.

The role requires the holder to be able to manage large datasets and use SQL to query the databases, map processes and write the code. Experience with Microsoft Excel, Access and Word are also essential.

Main Duties/Responsibilities
* Run database changes for the CATS database using SQL queries - with the knowledge to write, understand and validate the queries before they are run to ensure that they are correct and do not damage the data/database.
* Locate and collate the appropriate MI required. Ensure that the data collected is all correct and present in the required format.
* Ensure the MI gained is not double counted on other projects by liaising with other programmes and their respective MI managers.
* React to any scrutiny and produce ad hoc reports as required by the Managing Authority.
* Assist in the qualitative and quantitative aspects of audits, ensuring that the needs of the auditors are met in a timely manner with 0% errors.
* Be proficient in interrogating, extracting and validating the integrity of data sources from relevant databases (eg Oracle)
* Complete regular statistical returns
* Produce regular information for internal clients
* Use the formal document management systems available and ensure appropriate security, version control and archiving of data used and statistical analysis produced.
* Analyse standard data using appropriate packages such as Excel, Business Objects etc.
* Provide initial commentary and recommendations for further investigation/action. (Both qualitative and quantitative work).
* Undertake simple modelling and forecasting. This may involve designing the base model.
* Undertake data integrity checking, cleansing and migration work as required
* Knowledge of the rules and regulations surrounding external funds, especially those associated with European money is desirable.

Skills/Experience Required
Map processes and write the code (SQL) with documentation for the Funding and associated Management Information database. Extracting information from:
* Existing databases and spreadsheets
* Contract information Management Information sources Produce MI and data when required.

Essential:
* Strong SQL experience including being able to write code and automate processes for future data gathering and cleansing
* Good knowledge of Excel, Access and management information databases
