Management Accountant

To partner with the business unit/senior operation managers to ensure accurate and timely management accounts, with relevant analysis that highlights opportunities for greater margin generation.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

- To act as a Finance Business Partner to the Ops teams
- Responsible for the TGS and MPV business units
- Preparation of monthly management accounts
- Accruals and prepayments
- Supporting ops teams in understanding their cost drivers
- Working with commercial to ensure accurate reporting of revenues
- Forecasting, budgets
- Reconciling revenue information
- Ensuring costs are correctly allocated and reported
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Cost Control: identification and implementation of cost saving projects and projects and initiatives
- Establish strong working relationships with both functional and operational teams
- To understand and report on key risks and opportunities across business units
- Produce monthly finance reports
- Provide analysis on discretionary spend areas such as hotels and hire vehicles
- Active management of the withheld list to ensure prompt payment to suppliers
- Improve business processes to eliminate wasteful spend

PERSONAL QUALITIES & EXPERIENCE:

The following qualities/experience are essential:

- Previous relevant experience reporting and analysis
- Good financial & commercial acumen
- Qualified or part qualified ACCA/ACA/CIMA
- Ability to analyse data with and present findings
- Strong IT skills and knowledge of MS Office, Excel, Word etc
- Good communicator and strong inter-personal skills
