Management Accountant

The role of the management accountant is to proactively support the business with respect to the information it needs to do its job and add value using financial analysis. This includes monthly and quarterly MA reporting and annual budgeting and reforecasting as required. This is in order to maintain control over the financial performance of the organisation and report as necessary to senior management, Directors and the Board

Key accountabilities:

- Provide accurate and timely management information to meet the needs of the Directors and Senior Management Team. This will include monthly management reports.
- Use technical reporting tools to interrogate data on the accounting system.
- Support yet challenge the business to 'get behind the numbers' to add value throughout SCUK
- Support the consolidated budgeting and forecasting process for the organisation
- Produce management information to support the budget and forecast processes, enabling the directors to make timely decisions
- Review and update budget data ready for Agresso go live
- Share work load and provide holiday cover for cost recovery team

Person specification

Essential

- minimum Part-Qualified Accountant/Finalist or equivalent experience
- Experience of working in a highly computerised environment and ability to understand the inter relationship between different accounting systems.
- Will have experience of assisting in the preparation of budgets and of analysing and commenting on variances between actual and budgeted expenditure. The post holder will be highly confident with spreadsheets.
- Self-motivated and able to plan and manage a varied workload
- Strong team working skills and demonstrable ability to work co-operatively and flexibly to achieve team objectives.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills to be able to assess the needs of users and the organisation in varying situations requiring interpretation and judgement.

Desirable

- Experience of SCUK systems (PSF or Agresso, Vision)
