TTM Healthcare are recruiting a Mammographer on behalf of a hospital in Galway.
This is a 6 month contract, starting immediately, 40 hours per week.
Role:
Perform Mammograms.
Hold a post graduate diploma in Mammography.
Review studies for overall quality. Illuminate any problems noted which were not part of initial exam and inform Clinical Specialist.
Organize daily work schedule and respond to emergencies as they occur.
Perform daily calibration check on equipment; clean and perform minor maintenance procedures. Log problems and usage.
Perform on-call duties and/or work variable shifts as assigned to meet department needs.
Demonstrate competency in the use of all applicable aspects of meditech and PACS.
To demonstrate expertise in difficult situations.
To ensure patient safety at all times
To take part in routine daily inspection of equipment and quality assurance procedures. To report any defects or problems either directly to the Manager or Clinical Specialist in area where working.
To keep up-to-date with current techniques and developments and to take part in in-service training as required. To actively participate in Continuing Professional Development.
To participate and support research projects and undertake training of more junior or less experienced staff.
The Candidate:
Have the diploma of the College of Radiographers (Diagnostic) or have a Bachelor of Science or its equivalent in (Diagnostic Radiography).
Hold a Higher Diploma in Mammography or its equivalent supported by a minimum of 2 years post qualification experience
Qualification must be recognised and validated by the Irish Institute of Radiography.
Demonstrate experience of working with a team of Radiographers.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
Ability to work on ones own initiative
Ability to work under pressure
Good team player
Flexible approach
