Projektbeschreibung

SUMMARY: Provides supervision for Treatment Specialist staff within specific program. Provides administrative supervision to therapists within program, and depending upon licensure, may provide clinical supervision to assigned therapists. Carries an individual case load and acts as a therapist in using advanced knowledge and skills, delivers assessment, diagnostic, and treatment services for individuals with alcohol or other drug dependency or abuse issues as defined in the DSM IV Manual.

SUPERVISORY RELATIONS:

ACCOUNTABLE TO THE DIRECTOR OF RESIDENTIAL SERVICES

- Focus of Supervision: Consultation on clinically sophisticated interventions as part of case reviews identified by therapist. Supervisor acts in role of resource or advisor. Assist in defining and achieving supervision goals.
- Intensity/Frequency of Supervision: Staff meetings at least weekly, which include; treatment plans, utilization reviews and one-hour monthly individual conferences. Depending on licensure supervisor may sign all diagnoses, treatment and discharge plans.

COMPETENCIES ASSESSMENT/DEMONSTRATION

- Assessment during interview(s) by qualified management.
- Demonstrated experience in counseling adolescents and their families.
- Demonstrates a basic understanding of family systems and adolescent development.
- Knowledge of principles of chemical dependency and mental illness recovery.
- Proficient in the use of personal computer software and Windows operating environment; Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to teach, motivate, support and maintain strong customer service (people) orientation in the agency's support service areas

ANNUAL GOAL ACHIEVEMENT

- Development and achievement of annual performance and professional development goals.

SUPERVISION

- Provides supervision of Treatment Specialist and administrative supervision to therapists with appropriate documentation.
- Depending upon independent licensure, may provide clinical supervision to assigned therapists.
- Provides professional management of residential program daily schedule.
- Assists Treatment Specialists in providing individual and group interventions and goal setting with residents.
- Provides supervision of Treatment Specialists staff through rotating on call. Co-ordinate clinical decisions with the Director of Residential Treatment.
- Participates in the recruitment, interviewing and hiring of new Treatment Specialists.
- Participates in the annual evaluation of the Treatment Specialists.
- Coordinates orientation of new Treatment Specialists.

ASSESSMENT

- Gathers and documents clinically relevant information such as past history, symptoms, signs, and behavior patterns through document reviews and interviews with client, family and other parties.
- Evaluates the indications of behavioral health issues that interfere with normal, healthy functioning.
- Evaluates the nature of and extent of use, misuses, and/or addiction to alcohol and/or other drugs.
- Forms an initial diagnostic impression.

TREATMENT PLANNING

- At admission, defines an initial treatment plan appropriate to the diagnosis.
- Defines a treatment plan appropriate to the diagnosis including goals, objectives, interventions, and measures of success on day of admission.
- Review, update, and/or revise treatment plan as appropriate to client's progress (weekly).
- Bases treatment decisions on a clinical framework and effectively establishes medical necessity for the appropriate level of care.
- Transfers, discharges, and terminates cases to maximize potential gains to be sustained over time.
- Makes referrals for clients and/or family members as appropriate.
- Ensures client achieves treatment goals or modifies treatment plan as needed.
- Demonstrates a comprehensive and integrated plan; case file clearly communicates the plan.
- Effectively manages discharges; recommends appropriate resources.
- Defines a diagnosis within the scope of behavioral health (including alcohol and drug) diagnoses of the DSM IV Manual.

THERAPY

- Provides effective therapeutic interventions in individual, group, and family formats as directed by the treatment plan to address behavioral health (including chemical dependency) issues. Effectively engages clients and families in treatment relationship by using treatment goals and strategies in treatment interventions.

CRISIS INTERVENTION

- Identifies potential areas for crisis and proactively plans to prevent it.
- Responds to clients/families and assists meeting their needs in a timely manner.
- Handles crisis in a calm and effective manner.
- Provides effective family counseling and education to facilitate client treatment.

CASE MANAGEMENT

- Manages the treatment plan. Uses the plan as a working document to coordinate the delivery of services from a variety of appropriate service providers.
- Works closely in providing liaison services with other agencies involved with clients such as probation officers, assessment agencies working with families and outside therapists.
- Collaborates with internal and external resources and services as part of a comprehensive treatment team. Contributes in a positive way to workings of program concept of effective teamwork needed for effective treatment.

CASE DOCUMENTATION

- Completes require paperwork and client documentation from diagnosis to discharge and referral on assigned clients. Highly effective levels of completeness, clarity, accuracy, compliance standards, and timeliness.
- Responsible, with the original interviewer, for the completion and maintenance of the client's electronic health record.

LICENSURE AND EDUCATION REQUIRED:

- For Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) services, must have one of the following: LCDC II or III, LICDC, LSW, LISW, LPC, or LPCC.
- For Mental Health services must have one of the following: LSW, LISW, LPC, or LPCC.
- LCDC II requires an Associate's degree.
- LCDC III and LSW require a Bachelor's degree (LSW in Social Work).
- LPC, LPCC, and LISW require a Master's degree in a specific field with a specific curriculum.
- Valid driver's license (with 4 points or less).
- Meet criteria to be insured under Organization's automotive insurance policy.
