Maintenance Technician

OUR CLIENT IN THE BIOTECHNOLOGY INDUSTRY IS SEEKING 2 MAINTENANCE TECHNICIANS FOR A 3 MONTH ASSIGNMENT IN THE WESTERN LOS ANGELES, CA AREA. IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE A MINIMUM OF 2 YEARS OF MECHANICAL MAINTENANCE WORK EXPERIENCE WITHIN AN INDUSTRIAL/COMMERCIAL ENVIRONMENT AND EXPERIENCE WORKING WITH CMMS.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Perform a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks for the maintenance, repair and operation of site buildings including but not limited to: Painting, whiteboard installation (standard and electronic), wall hangings & special requests, bathroom stall repairs, office lock repair, doors and door hardware repairs, ceiling repairs & replacement, and site Sign shop support  with transparency & sign installation.
- Maintain service documentation via Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- Comply with all safety procedures, maintaining good housekeeping and safety of work areas. Recognize danger and safety hazards and propose methods to eliminate them.
- Maintain tools, parts, equipment and supplies in clean and safe condition and the compliance to State, County, or City Ordinances, Codes, or Laws.
- Complies with all policies for the safe storage, usage and disposal of hazardous materials. 
- Participate in ongoing technical, safety, and operational process training programs
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
- Act as a resource for all partners in equipment and service maintenance
- Documents work performance and materials procurement as directed.

REQUIREMENTS:

- High school diploma or GED required.
- A minimum of 2 years of Mechanical Maintenance related work experience.
- General knowledge of building construction, carpentry, doors and door hardware, flooring, ceiling tile, drywall, painting, concrete and stone desirable.
- Ability to work with computer based controls and experience working with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System - Maximo
- Ability to complete GMP documentation and follow applicable standard operating procedures
- Experience operating and maintaining hand tools and power equipment
- Ability to read and understand technical material including operating manuals and standard engineering drawings is required.
- Ability to work assigned shifts to provide adequate coverage, working off hours or call back in emergencies, work overtime to meet deadlines,and support on-call coverage as assigned
- Basic trouble-shooting, problem solving and training skills
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time and lift 50 pounds.
