Projektbeschreibung

The MAINFRAME Support role is responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of large, highly utilized Servers to maximize reliability and recoverability.

- Solves a wide range of difficult problems using professional concepts and company policies and procedures in imaginative and practical ways.
- Sets up user accounts on company's Servers and runs necessary system backups.
- Installs, configures, and maintains the server environment.
- Detects, diagnoses, and reports server problems.
- Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
- Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
- Normally receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new assignments or projects.

PLATFORM SUPPORT ACTIVITIES

- Manages and maintains production job requests, test job requests, scheduling changes, and operations batch processing
- Provides Mainframe account management including account creation and disablement

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Performs proactive and reactive Incident Management including L1 and L2 services
- Performs active system monitoring and event management, including physical hardware status, system and application processes, services, event logs, backups, scheduling, data transfers, resource utilization
- Co-ordinates remediation efforts with onsite, physical presence, or site services as needed
- Co-ordinates hardware and/or firmware repair (may include reactive patches)
- Dispatches third party field engineering personnel for hardware or software intervention under the terms of hardware and software support service agreements
- Provides support for root cause analysis and problem review for high impact and/or recurring problems
- Executes all changes requested, routine maintenance, or emergency break-fix in accordance with customer-defined Change Management process
- Performs peer technical review and approval of scheduled changes per customer processes
- Performs configuration management, which identifies and tracks the status of every IT component supporting the customer
- Administers all privileged level access requests for all platforms based upon customer defined security requirements
- Administers all access requests for standard accounts across platforms which are not AD enabled (ie AS400, VMS, DMZ and Non-Centrified Unix) based on customer policies
- Configures user access to desired resources via configuration of users and user related attributes (such as groups) within the supported environment
- Creates and disables groups required by approved technical teams or business unit contacts as required
- Manages deployment of approved patches and updates including security
- Deploys emergency patches to supported infrastructure at a pace that bypasses application dependency analysis
- Administers and supports console and remote access solutions
- Installs, configures and updates monitoring agents as required
- Provides support for Disaster Recovery execution

QUALIFICATIONS

- Must have 4-6 years of significant related work experience, plus professional degree and/or certification
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Server Administrator in an Application Server environment, ie Mainframe or similar environment
- Deep understanding of SLM and ITIL processes
- Knowledge of SOX environments
- Good interpersonal and professional skills
