Mainframe Performance and Capacity Consultant
I am currently looking for a Mainframe Performance and Capacity Consultant to work on a 12 month contract for a market leading client of mine in Johannesburg, South Africa.
All applicants must have a strong Mainframe systems background.
REQUIREMENTS - 1. Analyse system performance data, identify trends, problems and make recommendations.
2. Participate in Performance and Capacity planning projects.
3. Handle day to day queries for information.
4. Assist other support groups in identifying performance issues.
5. Problem handling and solving.
6. Report creation and maintenance.
7. Advice on lpars configuration and resource utilization.
8. Perform workload management via WLM.
THE CAPABILITIES REQUIRED - 1. Good knowledge of Mainframe Architecture.
2. Working knowledge of SMF/RMF/TDS and being able to produce and interpret reports from this data.
3. Understanding and being able to apply P&C methodologies.
4. Z/OS experience
5. TSO/JCL/REXX experience
6.Problem solving skills
7. Office Tools skills such as MS-EXCEL
8. Understanding CICS concepts and Reporting
9. Understanding Database Concepts, DB2 and IMS Reporting
10. Understanding DASD concepts and reporting
11. Workload management via WLM.
