Mainframe Developers - Cobol, DB2, Telon/Cool:gen Federal Government

Our client is a high profile Government Agency with offices located throughout Australia. The department is looking for 3X MAINFRAME DEVELOPERS to join their teams in BRISBANE. The is an initial 12 month contract with a 2x12 month extension commencing immediately with a rewarding hourly rate on offer.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL BE REQUIRED TO:

- Contribute to projects or activities involving the development and/or maintenance of computer applications in accordance with department standards and guidelines.
- Provide advice and undertake more complex activities associated with developing and/or supporting computer applications in a Mainframe environment.
- Review Functional Design documentation and escalate potential issues or gaps and provide recommended solution options.
- Assist with investigation and analysis of complex problems, provide technical advice and create technical designs, processes and architecture.
- Build/Coordinate the development of internal and/or external products and/or delivery mechanisms to improve business outcomes, in collaboration with Government, other agencies and external stakeholders.

TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION CANDIDATES MUST POSSESS EXPERIENCE IN THE FOLLOWING:

- Cobol, DB2 and MQ Series, XPediter
- Micro focus Express (MFE), Team Foundation Server (TFS) and SCLM
- z/OS, JCL, ISPF, JSB and CICS
- DB2 tools/utilities and SAS
- TELON and/or AllFusion Gen
