Mainframe Developer - 6 Month Contract

A wonderful opportunity for several Mainframe Developers to work with a large Government Department on a 6 month contract

- 6 MONTH CONTRACT
- POSSIBLE EXTENSION

THE SPECIFIED PERSONNEL WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

- Designing, constructing and testing software solutions in a TELON/Cobol/CA GEN 7.n or 8.n programming environment to meet the business requirements
- Delivery of technical documentation;
- Collaboration with business representatives, business analysts, system testers and other stakeholders to develop software solutions that meet the business requirements
- Provide consultation on design proposals.

A DEMONSTRATED EXTENSIVE KNOWLEDGE AND PROVEN EXPERIENCE WITH ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING:

- Extensive experience in developing software in a CA Gen 7.n or 8.n environment
- Highly developed coding skills in TELON/Cobol programming language and knowledge of using SAS are highly desirable.
- Experience in maintenance and/or the development of large software systems within a large IBM Mainframe environment;
- Experience in the design and development of large scale Mainframe systems;
- Experience in the resolution of Mainframe system problems, with an emphasis on production support problems;
- DB2. (in particular database interrogation/update skills using SQL via Princeton/Platinum/SPUFI and submitted jobs)
