Mainframe Developer

We are seeking MAINFRAME DEVELOPERS (up to 3 new roles) for our Government Department Client. These 12 month contracts will be located in Canberra, Brisbane or Melbourne. 

WE ARE SEEKING A PEOPLE WITH EXPERIENCE IN PROGRAMMING USING THE FOLLOWING:
Cobol, DB2 and MQ Series, XPediter
Micro focus Express (MFE), Team Foundation Server (TFS) and SCLM
z/OS, JCL, ISPF, JSB and CICS
DB2 tools/utilities and SAS
TELON and/or AllFusion Gen (formerly Cool:Gen)

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO:
Contribute to projects or activities involving the development and/or maintenance of computer applications
Provide advice and undertake more complex activities associated with developing and/or supporting computer applications in a Mainframe environment.
Review Functional Design documentation and escalate potential issues or gaps and provide recommended solution options. 
Assist with investigation and analysis of complex problems, provide technical advice and create technical designs, processes and architecture. 
Build/Coordinate the development of internal and/or external products and/or delivery mechanisms to improve business outcomes, in collaboration with Government, other agencies and external stakeholders.
Follow delivery methods and complete required software build changes as per Functional Design and in accordance with the Build approach and coding conventions. 
Work as an effective team member; share knowledge and information with the team and help others meet team priorities. 
Providing regular updates to Senior Management/Team Leads, regarding the progress of allocated work and escalating issues in a timely manner so that it can be tracked and resolved.
Contribute to reviews of system documentation and code to ensure the delivery of components meet the quality, consistency and performance required.
Contribute to all phases of a development work including analysis, design, coding, testing, implementation, maintenance and/or administrative tasks.
