MAINFRAME BATCH MONITORING CONSULTANT - Z/OS, CA7, CONTROL-M, OPC, SAR, JMR - CONTRACT

Square One are looking for a Mainframe Batch Monitoring Consultant to come on board for a 2 month rolling contract, they are flexible on where you will be based with the option of home working.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Respond to the user calls with in stipulated time and perform initial analysis
Open problem tickets, prioritizing and take corrective actions to resolve problems or escalate the problems to the appropriate groups for resolution following the notification and escalation procedures
Maintain service level commitments.
24 x 7 Mainframe and Midrange Batch schedule monitoring
Monitor daily batch schedules, documenting and escalating abends when necessary
Provide Level one problem determination for job abends and coordinating with other teams as per escalation procedures for Batch related problems and helping with resolve abends, JCL overrides, rerun etc.,
Level 1 Troubleshooting support for CICS, Database and RACF issues before escalating to the technical level 2 teams.
Escalate to the Technical and application teams as per standard operating procedures
Daily and weekly review of infrastructure and batch processing outages
Document abend resolutions in the Incident Database/production log for follow-up
Coordinate, plan & implement planned and Adhoc batch changes to schedules for all the environments(Development/QA/Production-like/Production environments)
Track all ad-hoc request received daily
Migrate schedules from one environment to other (eg: Development to QA or QA to Prod)
Coordinate with other groups to ensure proper scheduling has been implemented
Escalate excessive abends/delays, missing job documentation to the appropriate groups for resolution following the notification and escalation procedures

SKILLS

- Mainframe - z/OS 
- JCL, SDSF, REXX, TSO/ISPF, File-Aid
- Expertise on at least one Mainframe Scheduler - CA7, Control-M, OPC
- Expertise on at least one job archival product - SAR, JMR
- Familiarity with DB2 Monitoring/Logs/Tools, CICS and RACF Level 1 Activities

This is a 2 month rolling contract paying excellent daily rates starting ASAP. There will only be a one stage telephone interview with a view to start ASAP, as soon as Monday.
