Job description:

Mainframe Database Management DB2:

- Advisory role in DBA area (eg database planning)
- Support for DBA related tasks
- Create all kind of SQL queries (incl. triggers and stored procedures)
- Create and implement all kind of DDL and DML
- Plan and perform backup to ensure every object can be recovered within a reasonable amount of time
- Perform DB2 maintenance and SMP/E ACTIONs like runstats, reorg, binds
- Plan and perform DR (Disaster Recovery)
- Perform RFS (Request For Service)
- Perform DBA change requests
- Handle incidents
- Handle unusual tasks and issues
- Plan and perform Health Checks and Analysis
- Handle non compliance situations
- Work on automation of tasks (incl. checks) and issues
- Participate in on call duty

Incident Management/Problem Management:

- Perform root cause analysis of incidents/problems
- Work on preventing of incidents/problems
- Deliver statistics on incident handling
- Handling incidents, problems and changes, through related Management process
- Fulfil the required SLAs

Technical skills requited:

- Very good knowledge of DB2 SQL
- Very good knowledge of DB2 internal tables
- Very good knowledge of DB2 utilities like IC, reorg, ect.
- Very good knowledge of DB2 subsystem (inc data sharing)
- Good knowledge of SQL monitoring tools
- Good knowledge of REXX, JCL, ISPF

Good to have:

- Knowledge of creation and modification of exits written in Assembler language
- Knowledge of SMP/E and proven experience of Mainframe software upgrades.
- Experience with IBM, CA, BMC or Compuware toolsets for managing DB2
- Knowledge of installing & tuning monitoring tools, eg. Omegamon, Mainview
- Familiarity with RACF security products with ability to design optimal security solutions for subsystems and applications.
