MAIL SERVICE COURIER - CLASS D DRIVER - WITH AIR BRAKE ENDORSEMENT

Temporary, on-call positions for qualified Class D Drivers with an Air Brake Endorsement are available. If you are a recent graduate of a recognized driver development program for a DZ class license, and if you take pride in serving the community, enjoy working independently, want to supplement your hours, and are available to work on short notice, keep reading. As an on-call Mail Service Courier DZ Driver with Canada Post, you'll work locally, enjoy the freedom of being on the road, and deal with customers and the general public on a daily basis. You will be put on a temporary list and called on an "equal opportunity" basis,

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL:
- Operate portable communications devices
- Load/unload a Postal Vehicle
- Complete documentation and maintain records
- Communicate with customers and the general public
- Present Canada Post in a professional manner
- Maintain and safe guard all mail items and Canada Post property
- Operate a Canada Post Vehicle and be responsible for the vehicle and cargo safety
- Maintain a satisfactory safe driving record and the appropriate class of provincial driver's license
- Lift mail items weighing up to 22.7 kilograms (50lbs)
- Meet time schedules
JOB REQUIREMENTS (EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE):
- Graduate of completed recognized driver development program for DZ class license.
- For the past 3 years, held a satisfactory safe driving record (Driver's abstract)
- Experience in a commercial delivery or driving role is an asset
- Experience driving a 5 ton truck or larger vehicle is an asset
- Experience in customer service is an asset
