Machinist Job

MACHINIST needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in Santa Fe, CA.

What You'll Be Doing:

- Sets up and operates conventional, special purpose, and numerical control (NC) machines and machining centers to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts by performing the following duties:
- Utilizes ISO compliant documentation and/or processes to determine dimensions and tolerance of finished work piece, sequence of operations and setup requirements.
- Selects, aligns, and secures specified holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, grinders, sanders, drill presses, computerized engraving machines, and riveting machines. Any products identified through the inspection process to be nonconforming will be documented by initiating a nonconformance report while technically describing the areas of concern.
- With supervision, calculates and sets controls to regulate specified machining factors such as speed, feed, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input or edit computerized machine control media.
- Starts and observes machine operations to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or media as required.
- Verifies conformance of finished first article work piece to specifications and conducts subsequent inspection of work piece in accordance to the machine shop's statistical process control (SPC) inspection system.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Minimum one (1) year machining experience on conventional or CNC machines
- High School Diploma

BONUS POINTS! OTHERWISE KNOWN AS PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Machine technology and CNC Programming certificate are a plus.
