Looking for Fire Alarm Technician in Foster City, CA (Direct Client)

TITLE: SR QUALITY TECHNICIAN

LOCATION: FOSTER CITY, CA

DURATION: 9 MONTHS

POSITION PURPOSE:

- Inspects and tests automatic fire alarm and water flow systems in accordance with the NFPA (National Fire Alarm Code) and contractually prescribed frequencies and documents results. Cleans and repairs alarm systems per contract requirements.

Job Dimensions:

- Financial dimensions of the role: Position will provide support for district deliverables and associated revenue.
- People dimensions: No direct reports, will be part of the Test and Inspect Team and report to the Field Service Supervisor
- Interface: Interface with both internal/external customers and T&I Team to provide assistance/support with scheduling, completion and accuracy of documentation of field findings during testing and inspections of automatic fire alarm systems.
- Willing to work a fluctuating schedule. Weekends and weeknights. No set schedule
- Must be able to follow and meet deadlines

ACCOUNTABILITIES AND WORK PERFORMANCE METRICS:

- Follows an established schedule to inspect and test fire alarm systems and water flow systems at customer premises Project Plan, L and E report
- Inspects control panels and wiring for trouble indications Service Log
- Tests and inspects the condition/operability of devices (sensors), standby battery power sources and alarm transmitting controls.Service Log
- Simulates alarm conditions at initiating points by using test Switches and values or by carefully applying heat or test smoke.
- May make minor repairs of systems by replacing inoperative circuit boards, damaged components, etc.
- Attend and comply with Safety Trainings Attendance records and field verification
- Maintain contract schedules Monthly/weekly schedule
- Provide accurate field documentation Monthly/weekly reviews
- Assist achievement of Branch SPOT plan Quarterly P&L report
- Attendance and Punctuality Time and attendance records
- Able to perform all T&I Team duties (ie cleaning detectors, testing initiating & indicating devices, acknowledge and reset alarm signals from Front End, utilization of Fast Tool)

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

- High School and or GED diploma.
- 2 years work experience demonstrating self-direction and teamwork.
- Valid drivers' license and safe driving record
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Some mechanical ability
- PC skills
- Able to lift tools and equipment, work in tight spaces, climb ladders
