For our client located in Turnhout, Belgium, we are currently looking for a Network Engineer.

The team is responsible for the delivering standard network solutions for Wide Area and Local area Network related technology requests for the clients company's globally.
The Network WAN contractor will ensure that, for all requests, the standard network architecture and device configurations are adhered to by clients global network partner. In addition, the network engineer will interface with the other groups within ITSS, to address any issues in order to complete the request or project in a timely manner.
Job Description/Project Background
* Is responsible for placing circuit, hardware and software orders for projects and RFS's assigned to him and will ensure that security and quality (QA) requirements are met in all plans and actions.
* Provide written and verbal communication such as procedures and documentation.
* Deliver project solutions to specified requirements on schedule and within budget following appropriate IM methodologies.
* Interface with suppliers and vendors to coordinate and complete network Requests for Service (RFS) recommendations.
* Apply knowledge of industry and competitive environment in all facets of daily job functions.
* Ensure that security is considered and emphasized in all IM plans and actions.
Education
Bachelor Degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science OR equivalent through experience. Advanced course work in technical systems plus continued education in technical disciplines is preferred.
Experience/Required skills
* A minimum of 3+ years of broad IT infrastructure (network) experience, preferably in a large global organization is required.
* Good technical expertise in Firewalls and TCPIP protocol is a plus.
* Technical expertise in WAN Routers, Cisco Layer 2/3 Switches, IOS and CATOS, load balancers (F5), Riverbed, Juniper ., etc
* Expertise in delivering network services for clients in various network architectures and in different parts of the world.
* Experience with standard change management and configuration policies.
* Experience developing and implementing short-term tactical efforts focused on providing observable, measurable improvements to infrastructure, end users, operational counterparts, and business partners.
* Knowledge of ITIL framework- certifications is a plus.
* 5 years or more experience with: Cisco IOS 11.x, 12.x, Cisco Switches, Firewalls, WAN & W-LAN.
Personal skills
* Some flexibility in working hours is required (occasional over-time or weekend/holiday work)
* Fluent in English and preferably fluent in Dutch
