Logistics Manager - Metal Supply - Contract

I currently have an opportunity for a Transport / Logistics Manager with major steel supplier and distributor based in the West Midlands. This role will be offered on a contract basis to commence ASAP. Rates are flexible dependant upon experience. Key responsibilities will be to: - Determine location, types, and size of warehouses needed for storage of finished products; - Determine warehouse equipment and calculate its optimum amount; - Calculate the cost of warehouse-related activities; - Coordinate storage technological processes (receipt of incoming materials, equipment and products in the warehouse, loading and unloading operations, acceptance and transfer of resources and products in warehouses, ensuring necessary storage conditions in warehouses); - Transfer produces optimization for resources and products transfer within the company; - Development of guidelines to ensure organized inventory control; - Logistics personnel management - Product distribution management - Inventory management - Reporting documents control procedures - Health and safety issues control The client is looking fo candidates with: - Three to five years experience in Logistics - Previous experience in the metal / metal trade industry - Strong people management experience - Adept at working under pressure - Organised, Efficient and Reliable I hope that this is of interest.
