Logistics Engineer - Vehicle Routing Optimization

Yoh has a TWO (2) YEAR (24 MONTHS) CONTRACT OPPORTUNITY for a LOGISTICS ENGINEER - VEHICLE ROUTING OPTIMIZATION project to join our client in HOUSTON, TEXAS.

Job Responsibilities:
- The Engineer is responsible for HELPING OPTIMIZE THE VEHICLE ROUTING CLIENT\'S FLEET AND SUPPORT the goal of finding long term efficiencies through optimizations to reduce the overall cost.
- OPTIMIZE TRANSPORTATION ROUTES TO MAXIMIZE ROUTE EFFICIENCY - Monitor, analyze, evaluate, and optimize route productivity.
- Utilize engineering techniques and management principles to implement routing solutions.
- Interacting with internal departments to draw maximum efficiency and value from routing decisions.
- Utilize IT routing software to assist with optimizations.

Job Qualifications:
- Two plus (2+) or more years of experience applying relevant engineering techniques and management principles WITHIN THE GROUND TRANSPORTATION INDUSTRY.
- SOUND WORKING KNOWLEDGE OF ROUTING PROBLEMS, HEURISTICS, ADVANCED MATH AND OPTIMIZATION TO DEVELOP EFFECTIVE OPTIONS TO ENHANCE PRODUCTIVITY AND EFFICIENCY.
- KNOWLEDGE OF ROUTING THEORIES, PRINCIPLES, PRACTICES, METHODS, TOOLS, AND TECHNIQUES WITHIN THE FIELD OF TRANSPORTATION.
- Knowledge of information technology and relevant software, such as ESRI ArcLogistics (GIS), Transportation Management Systems, Roadnet or similar, to measure productivity, prepare statistical analyses, and generate reports.
- Ability to extract and analyze data using SQL queries.
- Excellent analytical and problem - solving skills.
