Logistics Coordinator

The role is based in the BOW (Breakbulk and Offshore Wind Terminal) Vlissingen in Holland. Some travel around Europe will be required with the potential to spend periods at other European locations. The wind farm will include 73 x 3MW turbines, an offshore and onshore sub station and associated cable works.

The Logistics Coordinator will manage the movement of equipment and materials to and from the port. The equipment and materials will be for one of the main construction vessels engaged in installing foundations on the construction site. Examples of equipment and materials include, foundation, monopile, grouting plant, grout, lifting accessories, people, and minor plant. There will be an element of making arrangements for construction staff and other staff, including inductions.

The role concerns the arrangements for construction resources to be loaded on and off a main construction vessel.

General
- Daily & weekly reports of activity
- Liaison with various parties
- Track/record all incoming/outgoing equipment and materials
- Health & safety, incident monitor/report
- Focal point for arranging passes/access to site etc
- Logistics & port arrangements
- Security of equipment and materials

Manage BOW Contract
- Issue instructions to BOW terminal for hire of equipment, labour, manage same
- Monitor MARPOL waste disposal
- Check invoices received from BOW terminal
- Ensure pre-load out procedures are complete before the vessel arrives

Deliveries
- Track/monitor arrival of monopiles and SIF loading onto quayside
- Visual check monopiles on arrival, paint and damage
- Track/monitor TP barge arrival & exit
- Liaise and assist grout suppliers with regard to deliveries
- Receive, QA check, miscellaneous deliveries & monitor
- Deal with delivery notes
- Advise Port of miscellaneous deliveries and ensure readiness
- Arrange storage areas if required

MP/TP loadouts
- Liaise with MPI and vessel reps regarding expected arrival time at quayside
- Liaise with Smulders - ensure TP barge readiness at quayside
- Liaise with Humber/SIF/BOW - ensure readiness of correct monopiles at quayside
- Assist with arranging additional equipment/labour as necessary
- Ensure that recycled items from MPI Discovery are tracked and returned to TP barge (ladders, lifting lugs etc)

Candidate skills & experience

- A port related background
- A demonstrable experience of analytical and disciplined processes of management.
- Experience working remotely from the UK
- Involvement in logistics & transport
- Heavy construction or engineering experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with construction

Education

The ideal candidate will have a formal qualification in some coherent discipline
Consideration will be given to candidates from a trade background with formal trade qualifications.
